The agency works on the international brand marketing for German owned football specialists uhlsport GmbH. As uhlsport could not compete with the huge budgets of Nike and Adidas, using the usual procedure of using celebrities to endorse products would have been prohibitive. In order to stand out from these high spending brands we instead championed the amateur players who play for the love rather than the money – the same people who would be buying the products. We used lomographic photography to give the campaign and catalogue an earthy, organic approach that would both stand out from the crowd and highlight Uhlsport’s environmental credentials and sense of fair play. Active sports brands previously handled by S&J include Gola, Quasar and Line 7.
